Meek Mill Sentenced To 2 Years In Jail & Jay Z Finds The Sentence “Unjust & Heavy Handed”

Meek Mill is going to prison for two years.

The rapper was found in violation of his probation

Meek Mill was sentenced by A Pennsylvania judge to a two to four years in prison on Monday for violating his probation. The ruling has shocked and angered fans and celebrities alike. Many of his fans took it to social media to criticize the judge’s ruling.

Jay Z who manages Mill under his Roc Nation management also reacted to the ruling. Hov took it to his social media and wrote;

The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career. Jay Z on Facebook.

The sentence follows an arrest for fighting at a St. Louis airport and for reckless driving in New York City.

The sentence was unexpected as prosecutors recommended Mill not be imprisoned for the probation violations, mentioning he’s been drug-free since January and has complied with most requirements of probation.

Mill’s lawyer, Brian McMonagle, has vowed to appeal the sentencing.
