Drake and Future Named in $25 Million Lawsuit For A Rape Case During The Summer Sixteen Tour
It seems like lawsuits are haunting on the musical act, from Usher to legendary RnB act R.Kelly. Well rappers Nayvadius DeMun Cash, known professionally as Future, and his counterpart Aubrey Drake Graham hve not been left out.
The man accused of the sexual assault is Leavy Johnson, who has since been indicted on a rape charge and arrested in Florida.
“Court records detail the 28-year-old woman’s account of what happened at the concert: She was trying to get backstage to meet Drake and a worker told her he could help,” reported Stacey Barchenger of The Tennesseean. “Around a corner, the man pushed her down and raped her.”
Johnson has been booked into jail and is awaiting arraignment for the rape charge. According to court records, the 28-year-old woman making the accusations against him claims the assault happened during the August 14 show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The woman, whose name is being withheld as is customary for victims presenting rape claims, is basing her suit—at least in part—on the argument that the arena, artists, and security companies employing Johnson should have known he posed an “unreasonable risk to others” due to Johnson’s outstanding warrants for assault at the time of the alleged attack.
According to Barchenger’s report, Johnson was also facing charges in Texas, and Nashville police worked with law enforcement officials in Texas to extradite Johnson to Nashville and answer to the rape charge.
