Manahel Hamdan | Most Talented Soul Artist Of The Century

I meet this lady Manahel Hamdan on our Instagram page, went through her page and found out she was a musician. Click a YouTube video link on her bio and was impressed with her style of music. Hit her DM and had a little conversation and I though Ishould share something from our conversation with you guys. Below is a story of a Blue eyed soul musician.

Manahel Hamdan is 21 years old  French-lebanese. She has participated in the Montreux jazz competitions in swizterland. Her style of music is known as Blue Eyed Soul music, a little bit as Carole King (Carole King is an American composer and singer-songwriter. She is the most successful female songwriter of the latter half of the 20th century, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1999).

Her music is inspired by soul jazz and blues  musicians such as Amy Winehouse, Carole King, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Donny Hathaway ( my favorite male singer), Marvin Gaye, Duke Ellington, John Lee Hooker, Cole Porter …and some others great artists.

Manahel Hamdan started singing and playing the piano too at the age of 13. She learnt how to sing by herself and later took some piano lessons but she never found What she Was looking for. She stopped her lessons and  started  playing blues songs inspired by Ray Charles melodies.

I worked on complicated chords and harmonies to achieve a good level.  I composed my first song at 17. I moved and lived in London and I went back to France at 19 and joined a music school till last year. 2016 has been a good year, I composed a lot of songs. My album is done.It talk about the man I loved, I wrote almost each song about him, Mister H ^^.I talk about my troubles and my stupid  behaviors sometimes  my family’s problems too.

Her latest song Jym talk about her relationship with her brother, how they are strong in front of their crazy father.

JYM is a name created thanks to initials of my siblings thats why I say we are Jym

Some of her other songs are available on Soundcloud

check out this talent on the video Jym. As a kenyan artist what do you learn from her?
